Job Title: GCE A Level Russian (2017 Specification) Examiner

Role Overview:

As a GCE Russian (2017 Specification) Examiner, your primary responsibility is to evaluate candidates' responses in accordance with the provided mark scheme while adhering to recognition conditions and examination procedures. Most subjects will be assessed using ePEN, which can be done remotely. Some subjects still follow the traditional method of marking using paper scripts sent via post. This role requires a high level of subject expertise to apply the mark scheme accurately. Each examiner will receive an assigned batch of scripts.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and consistent marking to uphold overall standards.
  • Submit designated samples to your Team Leader at specified intervals.
  • Adhere to marking milestones.
  • Complete all required administrative tasks as specified.

Experience/Qualifications Required:

  • Possess a degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Hold qualified teacher status, either obtained in the UK or overseas.
  • Have a minimum of 5 months of part-time teaching experience in the relevant qualification and subject within the last 10 years, obtained within the UK.
  • Consideration will be given to applicants without teaching experience but who possess assessment experience with a recognized UK exam board in the last 5 years, relevant to the applied qualification and subject.

Competencies Required:

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Capacity to meet deadlines.
  • High level of subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme.

Additional Information:

  • Marking period: May - July.
  • Examiner training will be conducted between May and June.
